Spotted this at Digg - author presents LOTRO intro scene. Turbine definitely has an opportunity for creating a great experience here, let's see if they can live up to it.
"For those of you who have already seen the sneak peek trailers, here is the complete introductory scene from the Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar. I wonder how the ring will tie into the story when there are tens of thousands of players to a server"

Now, this time I came across a somewhat different LOTRO video - author made a mini LOTRO movie out of his lotro gameplay, and properly decorated it and gave it a nice title: "Start of a new Life". Well done!

As announced at LOTRO forums re lotro movie:
Announcing the Availability of the LOTRO In-game Movies for Download!
Many of our players are missing the in-game movies which can be viewed at character creation, when transitioning from the newbie areas to the persistent world, and so on.
If you don't currently have the movies, you can now download and install them. If you're not sure whether you already have them, a simple test is to click on "Play Movie" in character creation - if nothing happens, you don't have them. The download is approximately 500Mb.

my pal told me that he has pre-oredered for £24.99. does he need to buy the retail one aswell? it says that full game client is on dvd disk included...
I believe that you have to pay $9.95 monthly, or you can pay $199 for a life time. the beta is active, I do play it now, so what can I say - it's a lot of fun. LOTRO is up there with the best, including WoW.
There are PLENTY of quests, and they are fun - you'll never be bored. Get a higher end graphics card, then nice cpu and decent ram (say, 1 GB) - graphics is amazing. I would definitely try this game if I were you.
